Mandatory reporting of child pornography is now law in Manitoba

2009

On April 15, 2009, Manitoba became the first Canadian province to make the reporting of child pornography mandatory. To coincide with the proclamation of this new law, Cybertip.ca launched this campaign in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba to raise awareness in the province about reporting child pornography to Cybertip.ca. The two campaign messages are: 'Child pornography is child abuse' and 'Child pornography doesn't report itself.' This public awareness campaign consists of billboards, transit posters on the back and in the interior of City of Winnipeg buses, as well as street and mall posters.
