In spring 2010 Cybertip.ca received two anonymous reports concerning a female suspect believed to be in possession of child sexual abuse content. The first report pertained to an instant messaging conversation between the female suspect and a male suspect believed to be in the USA. The information contained within the instant messaging conversation indicated that a possible offence may have occurred. The second report indicated that the female suspect may have been accessing content believed to be child pornography. A Cybertip.ca analyst completed various online searches and forwarded both reports to Ottawa Police Service. On June 3, 2010 Ottawa Police arrested the 22-year-old female. Law enforcement in the USA has executed a search warrant in respect to the suspect in the USA and charges are expected. (Hide)

An anonymous report was submitted to Cybertip.ca at the end of December 2009 indicating that a suspect in Oshawa may be in possession of child pornography on his home computer. According to the reporting person, the male suspect was in possession of child sexual abuse images of a 12-year-old girl who was known to the suspect. The mother of the child was reported as sending the images to the male suspect. The Cybertip.ca analyst completed various online searches and quickly forwarded the report to Durham Regional Police Service. In conjunction with the OPP – Project P, Durham Regional Police completed an investigation resulting in the identification of the girl child and the arrest of her mother and the male suspect. The child victim's mother was charged with Sexual Assault, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Sexual Interference, Making Child Pornography, Distributing Child Pornography, and Possession of Child Pornography. The male suspect was charged with Making Available Child Pornography, Sexual Assault, Invitation to Sexual Touch and Sexual Interference. Additional charges may follow. (Hide)

On April 26, 2010, Cybertip.ca received a report regarding a website believed to be displaying images of child sexual abuse. A Cybertip.ca analyst completed an analysis of the website and determined that the site appeared to be hosted in London, Ontario. In addition, the analyst was able to locate the website registrant's name and possible location. The report was forwarded to London Police Service who completed an investigation resulting in an adult male being charged with Making Available Child Pornography. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca recognizes the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Unit and the Guelph Police Service Technological Crimes Unit following an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a Guelph male and charges related to child pornography offences. On August 10, 2009, Cybertip.ca received a report from a person close to the suspect who indicated the suspect may be in possession of child pornography images. The Cybertip.ca analyst completed various online searches which provided information about the suspect’s jurisdiction. The report was subsequently forwarded to Toronto Police Service who conducted an investigation involving the execution of a search warrant. The 36-year-old suspect was subsequently charged with accessing and possessing child pornography and possession of marijuana. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca congratulates the Vancouver Police Department on their recent arrest of a Vancouver man on one count of luring. On September 18, 2009, Cybertip.ca received a report indicating that a male from Vancouver posted a classified advertisement seeking contact with young girls for a sexual purpose. In addition, the suspect had engaged in an email exchange with someone he believed to be 13 years of age wherein he attempted to lure the girl to meet up with him. The Cybertip.ca analyst completed various online searches, obtaining and verifying information. The report was subsequently forwarded to the Vancouver Police Department who completed an undercover investigation. When the male went to meet who he believed to be a 14-year-old girl on November 26, 2009, he was arrested by Vancouver Police officers. (Hide)

In January 2009 Cybertip.ca received two reports pertaining to a social networking website believed to be displaying videos of child sexual abuse. A Cybertip.ca analyst completed an analysis on the website and determined that the site appeared to be hosted in the USA. In addition, there was information pertaining to possible suspects. The reports were forwarded to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC). A suspect in the USA had a lready been identified as part of an ongoing investigation and law enforcement in Florida were involved. The execution of a search warrant in April 2009 resulted in the seizure of multiple computers and revealed thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse involving pre-pubescent children. The 19-year-old suspect was charged and convicted for two counts of Distribution of Child Pornography and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. In October 2009, he received a 12 and a half year sentence to be served in a federal penitentiary, followed by 15 years of supervised release. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca commends the Toronto Police Service (TPS) on their recent arrest of a Toronto area man on two charges of possession and five charges related to failure to comply with probation. In May 2009, Cybertip.ca received a report indicating that a Toronto man previously convicted for offences related to child pornography, was accessing computers at public libraries. A Cybertip.ca analyst immediately forwarded the information to TPS. On June 24, 2009 the male was arrested at a public library and subsequently charged. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca congratulates the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) on their recent arrest of a Winnipeg man on charges related to possessing and accessing child pornography. In November 2008, Cybertip.ca received a report indicating that a Winnipeg man was involved in downloading and accessing potentially illegal content through a peer to peer program. A Cybertip.ca analyst immediately forwarded the information to WPS. The Cybertip.ca report provided corroborating evidence which assisted WPS in obtaining a search warrant. Following execution of the search warrant and a forensic examination of the computer, a 35-year-old male was arrested. The male had regular access to a child who was subsequently removed from the situation. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca congratulates the Kingston Police Service on their recent arrest of a Kingston man on one charge of luring and four charges related to breaching probation. In January 2009, Cybertip.ca received a report from the mother of a 14-year-old girl indicating her child was engaging in text message exchanges with an individual purporting to be a 15-year-old male. The male was allegedly attempting to lure the girl to meet him in Kingston, four hours away from her home town. The girl had met the suspect on "Speed Date" and was planning to run away with him. After confronting her daughter and going through cell phone text messages, a report was submitted to Cybertip.ca, whereby an analyst immediately forwarded the information to Kingston Police Service. Following an investigation, a 20-year-old male was arrested. The male was known to the police as he had just been released from custody after being convicted of physically assaulting another girl that he had met on the Internet. In addition, the accused is wanted in three Provinces for charges including sexual assault and threats against a girl whom he had met on the Internet and then moved in with. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca received a number of anonymous reports indicating that the suspect was running a forum based website which appeared on the surface to contain images of exploitative child modeling. Reported information indicated that becoming a member of the site provided access to illegal images of children. The suspect’s possible jurisdiction was identified and a report was forwarded to Winnipeg Police Service. Through an undercover operation, an adult male was arrested on August 14, 2008. (Hide)

Congratulations to the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Unit on the arrest of a Toronto man. In June 2008, Cybertip.ca received a report regarding potential illegal written content posted on a website. Upon receipt of the report, a Cybertip.ca content analyst reviewed the content and after completing various searches, determined the suspect's jurisdiction as the Toronto area. The information was immediately forwarded to the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Unit. Following an investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged with Transmit Child Pornography and Make Child Pornography. (Hide)

On July 6, 2008, Cybertip.ca received an anonymous report indicating that emails were being sent advertising the sale of videos potentially containing imagery of children being sexually exploited. An assessment was completed by a Cybertip.ca analyst and information was forwarded to Toronto Police Service. On February 29, 2008, Cybertip.ca received an anonymous tip through the online report form from an adolescent indicating that an adult male had engaged in sexually suggestive conversations with him/her. The suspect had also exposed himself in photos and made arrangements for them to meet. A Cybertip.ca analyst determined that the suspect resided in Toronto and the report was immediately forwarded to law enforcement. An investigation was completed by Toronto Police Service resulting in the arrest of the 23-year-old male. (Hide)

On February 13, 2008, Cybertip.ca received an online tip from an Ontario woman who explained that her granddaughter had been sexually abused by her stepfather and shown sexually explicit pictures on his computer. The woman’s grandson indicated the suspect had touched him in a sexual manner. At the time of the report, the suspect was allegedly living with a friend and her nine year-old granddaughter.

Cybertip.ca analysts were able to locate additional information on the suspect from various online searches and forwarded the report to the London Police Service. The suspect engaged a person he believed to be a teenager in sexually explicit conversations and performed sex acts live on webcam. An adult male was arrested and charged with five counts of Luring a Child. (Hide)

The Toronto Police Service's Child Exploitation Section investigated reports forwarded by Cybertip.ca and arrested a 53 year-old Toronto man on numerous charges, including Luring, Invitation to Sexual Touching, and Exposure to an individual under 14. (Show)

Cybertip.ca received a number of reports in the fall of 2007 regarding instant messenger logs between an adult male and an underage individual. The adult male was attempting to have the underage individual perform sexual acts on a webcam, and was sending nude images of himself to the underage individual. After identifying the Toronto area as the suspect's potential jurisdiction, Cybertip.ca immediately forwarded the reports to the Toronto Police Service. Following an investigation, a 53 year-old male was arrested on December 5, 2007 after making arrangements to meet with a 13 year-old female. (Hide)

After posting nude images of himself and children online, the Sûreté du Québec arrested a 38 year-old Montreal man on two charges of Luring and three charges of breach of condition, with other possible charges pending. (Show)

Cybertip.ca congratulates the Sûreté du Québec for their recent arrest of a Montreal man on two charges of luring and three charges of breach of condition. On September 29, 2007, a report was submitted to Cybertip.ca about a concerning profile on a popular social networking site. An adult male was posting nude images of himself in online photo albums, along with images of what he claimed to be his children and other unidentified children. After identifying Montreal as the suspect's potential jurisdiction, the report was immediately forwarded to the Sûreté du Québec. Through an undercover operation, a 38 year-old male was arrested on November 14, 2007 when he went to meet with what he believed would be a 12 year-old female. Other charges may be laid. (Hide)

Reports of chatroom conversations and images detailing sexual exploitation were forwarded to the Southern Alberta ICE Unit, who subsequently arrested and charged a suspect based on his IP address. (Show)

On October 11, 2007 an administrator of a Web video chat community submitted a report to Cybertip.ca after receiving information that an individual in the chat community was claiming to be abusing his 10 year-old granddaughter, along with being in possession of graphic sexual images of a child. Chat logs were provided to Cybertip.ca that included images of the alleged suspect.

After tracing the IP address to Calgary, Alberta, a Cybertip.ca analyst immediately forwarded the information to the Southern Alberta ICE Unit. Investigators launched an investigation and successfully matched the suspect's image in the report to his driver's license. A search warrant was obtained, and an adult male was arrested and charged with Possession. No children have been identified at this time. (Hide)

An anonymous report was submitted to Cybertip.ca regarding an individual sexually abusing young children and posting pictures of the abuse on the Internet. The report's information was used in an international manhunt that enabled the Sûreté du Québec to arrest a 32-year-old Montreal man. The suspect was charged with sexual assault, incest, and the production, distribution and possession of child pornography material. Children ages one and four were removed from an abusive environment. The suspect had also been featured on America's Most Wanted. (Hide)

Quebec authorities arrest a male for Luring and Possession of Child Pornography (Show)

Cybertip.ca received a report from a man who had been conversing on IRC with a person he believed to be a female. When the reporting person accepted this individual into his MSN Messenger list, he eventually discovered that the person was actually a male. On one occasion, the male suspect offered to have the reporting person watch him perform a sexual act with a child present in the room. Cybertip.ca immediately forwarded the information to Quebec authorities; the suspect was arrested and charged with luring, as well as possession of child pornography. (Hide)

NCECC assists international authorities in identifying three young children in Northern Germany, all of whom had endured sexual abuse (Show)

Cybertip.ca received a report of a Japanese imageboard featuring several images of child abuse. Analysts conducted various searches and forwarded the information to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre. This information, combined with other intelligence, enabled law enforcement to identify three young children in Northern Germany, all of whom had endured sexual abuse. The suspect, who lived in the same home as the children, was arrested and charged with criminal offences. (Hide)

Hamilton Police Service arrest a 41-year-old man after attempting to lure a 14 year old boy from Colorado (Show)

A mother in Colorado found sexually explicit emails sent to her 14-year-old son that included plans to meet up with a 41-year-old man in six weeks' time. She reported the incident to Cybertip.ca, whereby analysts reviewed the information and performed various searches. The report was forwarded to the Hamilton Police Service, and within days the suspect was arrested. At the time of his arrest, the suspect had already purchased a plane ticket to Colorado, made reservations at a local hotel, and had detailed directions to the boy's home. (Hide)

An anonymous report was provided to Cybertip.ca regarding an individual going into chatrooms and discussing his/her sexual interest in children. The reporting person was able to provide limited information on the suspect. Following a review of the chat logs and various online searches, the information was forwarded to law enforcement. Durham Regional Police later indicated this report was used to assist OPP Project "P" with executing a warrant. A 32-year-old male from Oshawa was charged with one count of luring. (Hide)

In February 2006 Cybertip.ca received a report from a parent in Australia expressing concerns about a suspect who had contacted his 9-year-old daughter online. In May 2006, Cybertip.ca received a second report from a parent in the USA who indicated similar concerns regarding what appeared to be the same suspect contacting her 9-year-old daughter online. As the suspect’s jurisdiction could not be determined, the reports were both forwarded to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre. The reports were subsequently sent to Toronto Police Service who were already involved in an investigation pertaining to the suspect. Toronto Police Service had received multiple reports indicating that this suspect was engaging young girls in online sexual conversations. The suspect was arrested following an undercover investigation. He was charged with two counts of Luring a Child Under 14, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Access Child Pornography, Possess Child Pornography, and Indecent Exposure. (Hide)

On November 21, 2006 Cybertip.ca received a report from an individual who indicated that one of his employees was potentially accessing child pornography content on a company computer. The reporting person was promptly connected with Peel Regional Police who arrested the suspect that same afternoon. The suspect was charged with Possess Child Pornography and Access Child Pornography. (Hide)

On December 26, 2006, Cybertip.ca received a report from a mother who had found images of her 6-year-old daughter’s genitals on a family member’s computer. The analyst verified the suspect’s jurisdiction and immediately forwarded the report to the Hamilton-Wentworth Police who subsequently arrested the suspect. (Hide)

Kingston Police Services, in coordination with US law enforcement, arrest an adult male who is charged, convicted, and sentenced to 59 years in prison for a number of crimes including sexual offences (Show)

A mother in Ontario contacted Cybertip.ca after she learned that her fourteen year-old daughter had been talking with a thirty-five year-old male over the Internet. The mother found evidence on her child's computer that the male suspect had been sending her child pornography images. A Cybertip.ca analyst conducted various searches and verified the information provided. The report was then referred to Kingston Police Services.

Further investigation revealed that the child had been talking online with other adult males and had been sexually assaulted by a male from Pennsylvania. The man was arrested and charged with four different offenses relating to this case, as well as other counts related to other female victims also identified. The man pleaded guilty to the offences committed in Kingston and received 24 years in a U.S. federal prison for his crimes, as well as an additional 35 years for the other offences. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca recognizes the RCMP J Division ICE Unit in New Brunswick following an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a New Brunswick male and charges related to child pornography offences. In the fall of 2007 RCMP J Division ICE Unit were made aware of a suspect in their jurisdiction who was believed to be in possession of child pornography. During the course of their investigation, Cybertip.ca forwarded three reports to the RCMP J Division ICE Unit pertaining to the same suspect. The Cybertip.ca reports provided corroborating evidence which assisted the RCMP in obtaining a search warrant. Following an execution of the search warrant, the male was charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography and two counts of Distribution of Child Pornography. (Hide)

A Cybertip.ca analyst completed various searches on the reported information and was able to ascertain that the suspect was likely residing in the Vancouver, B.C. area. A report was provided to Vancouver Police Service who completed an investigation resulting in an adult male being charged with Luring. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca received two reports in 2006 with information indicating that the suspect was in possession of child pornography. In one report, the suspect was described as engaging in a conversation with the reporting person about his use of child pornography. Cybertip.ca analysts utilized various search tools and forwarded the information to the Manitoba ICE Unit. A search warrant was obtained and the suspect was found in possession of various images of child sexual exploitation. The accused admitted to having a “problem” with child pornography. (Hide)

In June 2006, Cybertip.ca received a report from a chatroom moderator indicating that while chatting online, an adult male described being involved in a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old girl. In addition, the adult male engaged in a chatroom discussion with someone he believed to be underaged, describing his interest in performing sexual acts and wanting to meet the girl in person. A Cybertip.ca analyst determined that the suspect resided in Winnipeg and immediately forwarded the information to Winnipeg Police Service Child Abuse Unit. In June 2006 Cybertip.ca received a report from an individual who indicated that the suspect had pornographic images of the reporting person’s girlfriend who was under the age of 18 when the images were taken. The reporting person believed that the images were being distributed and provided information suggesting that the suspect may be in possession of additional child pornography content. The report was initially forwarded to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre and subsequently sent to Longueuil Police Service. The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple offences against children. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca received a report about an individual in Yahoo! Canada chatrooms posting child abuse images. The suspect had a photo album of nude females between the approximate ages of 10-15, as well as images involving children being sexually assaulted. A Cybertip.ca analyst identified a jurisdiction in Quebec and forwarded the report to the SQ Cyber-surveillance Unit. A male suspect was arrested and subsequently pleaded guilty to the charges. On August 5, 2005 Cybertip.ca received a report indicating that an image of a missing child was seen on a site hosting child pornography images. The Cybertip.ca content analyst completed various online searches which identified a possible suspect in Saskatchewan who appeared to be involved in posting suspicious comments and possibly luring a 10-year-old child. The report was forwarded to Saskatoon Police Service who arrested the suspect and charged him with Manufacture Child Pornography, Distribute Child Pornography, Access Child Pornography and Assault Police Officer. Through the course of this investigation, two additional suspects were identified, one from Saskatoon and one from Regina. The Saskatoon based suspect was arrested and charged with Access Child Pornography and Possess Child Pornography. Regina Police Service arrested the Regina based suspect who was charged with Possess Child Pornography. (Hide)

Various online searches were completed by the Cybertip.ca content analyst who was able to verify the reported information and add additional information to the report. In 2005, Cybertip.ca received two anonymous reports indicating that an individual was in possession of a large number of graphic child abuse images in their email account and in their home. An online search was completed by a Cybertip.ca analyst and the information was forwarded to RCMP E Division ICE Unit. A report came in to Cybertip.ca in October of 2004 regarding a male possessing and sharing links to child pornography on mIRC. A Cybertip.ca analyst forwarded the report to law enforcement, resulting in a search of the suspect's home and the seizure of a thousand DVDs, CDs and diskettes of child pornography. As a result of the police investigation, the accused pleaded guilty to accessing, distributing and making child pornography as well as two counts of sexual assault. (Hide)

In July 2007, Cybertip.ca was contacted by a woman who indicated concerns regarding a chat conversation between her 14-year-old niece and an adult male. After reviewing the chat logs and completing various online searches, Cybertip.ca forwarded the report to the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre. The suspect residing in France and was accused of engaging in chat conversations with an underage female. The suspect asked the child to send photos and offered in return to send sexually explicit pictures. The information was forwarded to Interpol France and an investigation resulted in the suspect being arrested. An adult male admitted to sexually abusing children, along with possessing and distributing child pornography. (Hide)

In August 2004, Cybertip.ca received three reports from different sources about a possible Canadian website hosting child pornography images. Cybertip.ca analysts examined the contents of the website and determined that there were images being posted that would be considered illegal. An anonymous report was made to Cybertip.ca on June 15, 2005 regarding a male suspect in Quebec who was posting suspicious comments on a blog. Through online searches, the Cybertip.ca content analyst added additional information to the report and forwarded it to the Sûreté du Québec Cybersurveillance. The information was subsequently forwarded to the Levis Municipal Police who arrested the male. (Hide)

In July 2004, Cybertip.ca received an online report from an employer in Toronto who had tracked the computer usage and sites visited by one of his employees. He discovered that the individual was visiting illegal websites to download images of child pornography.

Cybertip.ca verified the information and forwarded it to the Toronto Police Service's Child Pornography Unit. After an extensive investigation, the Unit uncovered two additional computers at the suspect's home, both containing stored images of child abuse. A 33 year-old male was arrested and charged with accessing and possessing child pornography. (Hide)

On February 12, 2003 Cybertip.ca received a report from a woman in the USA who reported a suspect posting images of himself and his 7 year old son in soiled diapers on a parenting forum board. The individual was also offering the services of his son to pose for other pictures as requested. In addition to the 7 year old, the suspect claimed to have two other children; a 13 month old daughter and an 11 year old son. A Cybertip.ca analyst executed various Internet searches and forwarded the report information to law enforcement in the appropriate jurisdiction. Toronto Police Service subsequently arrested and charged an adult male with two counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Indecent Exposure, Possess Child Pornography, and Manufacture Child Pornography. On October 25th, 2005, Cybertip.ca received a report from a citizen of British Columbia regarding child abuse images. While repairing a friend's computer, the reporting person found numerous files that he felt were images of child pornography. With the information provided, a Cybertip.ca analyst conducted various searches, added value and verified the information. This report was immediately forwarded to the RCMP E Division Ice Unit. December 2005, the male suspect was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. (Hide)

Cybertip.ca received an anonymous report on December 24, 2002 indicating that a Winnipeg man may have child pornography content on his work computer and may be distributing the content at his place of employment. Various online searches were performed by the Cybertip.ca analyst who was able to verify some of the reported information. The report was then forwarded to Winnipeg Police Service and the Manitoba ICE Unit. The Manitoba ICE Unit completed an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a Winnipeg male. On June 22, 2004 Cybertip.ca received a report from a woman who described viewing potential child pornography on an acquaintance’s computer. The suspect had access to numerous children, none of whom were residing with him at the time. The reported information was promptly forwarded to the Manitoba ICE Unit who completed an investigation. Cybertip.ca received an online report from a moderator of an MSN Trivia chatroom. The moderator had been informed that an individual from Manitoba had been chatting with an adult female member, and had requested to see pictures of the female's 21-month-old daughter so that he could masturbate to the images.

Cybertip.ca obtained the individual's IP address, as well as the possible identity of the suspect. The report was then forwarded to the Winnipeg Police Service's Child Abuse Unit, who subsequently arrested a 23 year-old male and charged him with possession of child pornography. (Hide)

The mother of a 14-year-old girl contacted Cybertip.ca on July 16, 2003 to report information indicating that her daughter may have been lured online. The child had been threatened by the suspect to send naked images. The Cybertip.ca analyst forwarded the information to Winnipeg Police who also involved law enforcement from the United Kingdom. The Cybertip.ca analyst performed online searches verifying and supplementing the reported information. The reporting person expressed concerns that the founder of a chatroom may be in possession of child pornography. The suspect was believed to be residing in Ontario. The Cybertip.ca analyst completed various searches on the reported information and was able to confirm and add supplemental information to the report which was then forwarded to Hamilton Police Service. Multiple agencies become involved including law enforcement agencies in the USA who assisted in seizing exhibits. Hamilton Police Service subsequently arrested and charged the suspect. (Hide)
